City+County Road One

The Road One was born out of our desire for a bicycle to perform at speed on the poor road surfaces surrounding San Francisco. We designed a bike that could handle these roads. Made in the USA, of lightweight Columbus tubing, the Road One is a our interpretation of an all day road bike.

Compact Geometry Compact Geometry gives us three benefits; the tubing is shorter thus lighter and stiffer, the sloped top tube exposes more seatpost which allows us more built-in flex for rough road comfort, and we can fit more people with fewer sizes.

Oversized Down Tube The 44mm* Columbus Life down tube is the "backbone" of the Road One. It works in conjunction with the 44mm head tube, PF30 bottom bracket, and Columbus Life chainstays to provide the stiffness that we required out of the Road One. *38.1mm for Small.

10mm Seatstays In order to balance the extreme stiffness of the Road One's "backbone" we needed to select very compliant seatstays. Our 10mm tipped Columbus seatstays are designed to soften the vertical ride of the Road One and provide a lovely visual contrast.

12mm Thru Axles & Flat Mount Disc Brakes The new standard for road bikes with disc brakes. Thru Axles allow us maintain wheel alignment and have better rough road steering accuracy. Flat mount disc brakes are lighter and are so much more aesthetically pleasing than anything that has come before them.

Clean Cable Routing and a Third Bottle Cage We chose to use external, full-housing cable management that runs along the underside of the bike. We added a third bottle cage to let you carry weight low and centered for better handling, be it tools or extra water for those long days in the saddle.

Fits 32mm Tires* The Road One is designed around 28mm-32mm tires. The new Enve Composites Road Disc Fork also fits 32mm rubber. On rough roads, 28mm tires not only feel better, but they offer better grip and more control. Bigger tires are the future. *Actual measurement, rim width can affect the tire size and can cause rubbing.

PLEASE NOTE: The C+C Road Disc is designed around 28mm tires. However, it can fit tires that physically measure 32mm. For best handling, use tires between 28–32mm. All measurements done with a 28mm (labeled) tire on a wide rim (23mm internal), resulting in a tire that measures 32mm.
